Review all of the steps you may need to take to ensure a smooth transition to the TowneBank Business Online Banking system.

Business Online Banking & Bill Pay Transitions

On Monday, June 9, all Village Bank Business Online Banking Company Administrators and Users will transition to TowneBank Business Online Banking. Prior to this date, Business Online Banking users will have a Preview Period from May 27 to June 6 to become familiar with features on the TowneBank platform. We will send direct communications to company administrators. We strongly recommend that you log in prior to the transition that will occur over the weekend of June 6-8.

    Village Bank Bill Pay will be unavailable beginning at 5:00 PM on Thursday, June 5. We expect all payments to process as scheduled. You will need to re-establish any eBills in the TowneBank system on Monday, June 9.

Important Notes About Bill Pay

While we expect all previously scheduled bill payments to process without any interruption, please note that you will need to re-establish any eBills in the TowneBank system on Monday, June 9. In addition, if you have any bill payments scheduled between June 9-14, please re-schedule those payments to be paid before June 5 or, plan to log into the TowneBank Business Online Banking system on June 9 to reset those payments so they are paid after June 9.

  • All Village Bank customers will transition to the TowneBank Business Online Banking system on June 9, 2025. However, we will have a preview period that will begin on May 27, 2025 that will allow your company admins to explore the TowneBank Business Online Banking system and set up users before June 9.

  • No, your recurring transfers will not carry over to the TowneBank Business Online Banking system. We recommend that you make note of your transfers and be prepared to set them up in the new system after the transition on June 9. 
  • Here are some important things to note about bill payments: 
    1. If you have any bill payments scheduled for June 5-9, we ask that you either schedule them to pay before this date, or re-establish them in the TowneBank Business Online Banking system when you are able to log into it on June 9. 
    2. All other scheduled payments are expected to continue to be paid as usual, without interruption. 
    3. If you had eBills set up through Village Bank online banking, you will need to set up these eBills in the TowneBank Business Online Banking system post-conversion. As a reminder, an eBill is when you receive a bill directly into Bill Pay from a biller (such as your electric company, credit card provider, etc.) 
  • Yes. You will recieve a company ID prior to the Preview Period that begins on May 27. We also use multi-factor authentication where the system will send you a one-time passcode either by phone call or text to a phone number on file for you. It is imperative that we have a valid phone number on file for you prior to your initial login that is either a mobile device or phone number where you can be reached directly. 

    If you do not have a current phone number on file with Village Bank, we recommend that you contact your local branch to update your records. 
  • ACH and Wire templates created prior to May 16 in the Village Business Online Banking system will be converted to the TowneBank Business Online Banking system. Any templates created after that date will NOT transfer over.

  • Loan information won't be available until Tuesday, June 10 in the TowneBank Business Online Banking system. 
  • Beginning on June 9, when you log into the TowneBank Business Online Banking system, you will have access to account history from January 1, 2025 to June 6, 2025. We recommend that you download any transactional information from the Village Bank Online Banking system before the system becomes unavailable June 6. 

    However, you will have access to 18 months of online statements in Business Online Banking. 
  • If you use the Village Bank mobile banking app, for either business or personal account access, the app will be unavailable as of 3:00 PM on Friday, June 6. We recommend that you download the TowneBank Mobile App you need to access your account on Monday, June 9.

  • Most usernames will remain the same. If your current username does not meet the requirements for the online banking systems at TowneBank, you may be prompted to change your username at your initial login on June 9. Prior to conversion, we will provide additional information regarding your login credentials. We will send direct written communications to online banking users about user IDs and temporary passwords, downtime, and helpful demonstrations to optimize your experience.
  • The Preview & User Set-Up Period is a time where Village Bank Business Online Banking users can log in and see a 'preview' of the TowneBank Business Online Banking system. It will begin on Monday, May 27 and end at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 5.

    While the system will not have balances and you will not be able to execute transactions, it will provide an opportunity for you to do the following:
    1. Review or create users and set up entitlements and approval levels
    2. Review account numbers and/or change account descriptions 
    3. Set up account alerts
    4. Verify and create ACH/Wire templates
    5. Create ACH and Positive Pay file definitions
    6. Set up your dashboard if you are a Treasury Services user 
    7. Familiarize yourself with the system
    On May 27, we will email you instructions about where and how to log into the system for the Preview Period.
