Meet Ted Wolfe, President of TowneBank Charlotte
With over 30 years of financial industry experience, including nearly two decades of commercial and corporate banking in the Charlotte market, Ted serves as president for our Charlotte region. As president, he leads his team of commercial, private, and retail bankers to ensure an extraordinary experience for our members in the Queen City.
Q: What does it mean to serve as the president of TowneBank Charlotte?
A: Joining the team at TowneBank feels like coming home. After a long career in the financial industry, I’ve learned that the most important part of banking is the individual relationship with each member. I love the culture at TowneBank – there is a high level of integrity and a strong desire to help our members succeed.
Q: How does TowneBank help residents and businesses in Charlotte?
A: TowneBank serves the Charlotte community through our genuine relationships with our members and the way that we approach business. The banking industry is full of products, but what sets TowneBank apart is our desire to understand the needs of our members and the community as a whole.

A: At TowneBank, we are connected to our members on an emotional level. Other financial institutions have moved significantly toward electronic delivery, and while technology is certainly helpful, we recognize how important it is to know our members individually and to be accessible to them. It is very important for our members to know that they have someone to sit down at the table with them and help think about the big picture.
Q: What is your favorite thing about what you do?
A: Our members are trying to accomplish goals, both personally and professionally. I enjoy thinking proactively and strategically to help anticipate needs to help support their journey toward those goals. My role is to help add value to peoples’ lives and I really enjoy being able to do that.

Q: What do you love about Charlotte?
A: Charlotte is a unique community. We often call it a “small big town.” It’s a large city, but you often see the same people over and over again in the community, and that makes it feel close knit. That’s one of my favorite things about Charlotte – I run into people at the grocery store or doing work with different organizations – it makes you feel connected. While Charlotte is a large city, it clearly has a strong sense of community.
Q: Where do you see changes coming in the Charlotte region in the next 2-3 years?
A: Obviously, Charlotte is a growth market. Our additional locations expand our reach. It’s the perfect opportunity for us to offer our uniquely personal approach to more people!
