A full-service, general construction firm, Hudson Brothers Construction Company offers design/build construction services and construction management services. Lynn Hudson started Hudson Brothers Construction in April of 1995, but he had been in the construction business for many years before that, working with his brother at J.H. Hudson Construction Company. Lynn graduated from North Carolina State University and had gained valuable experience working summers during high school and college. After graduation, he worked in various capacities at J.H. Hudson, which was reincorporated as Hudson Brothers in 1995. Lynn has served as president and CEO of Hudson Brothers since that time.
“We like to come in early on a project from concept,” Lynn says. “We work as a team with the owner, the architect, and us as the builder. It makes for a more successful project when everyone has a common goal. There are three components important in a project – first is to build it within budget, second is to build it in a timely manner, and third is to deliver a high-quality product that everyone is happy with.”
Lynn and his team began work on the Greenville TowneBank office post-Covid when there were many challenges with delivery lead times. “We were able to secure delivery early of some major critical elements like heating and A/C units and structural steel,” Lynn says. “There was also a specialized underground stormwater management system on this project which we had to work on diligently to ensure there would be no delays.”
Greg Steele, TowneBank Greenville president, and Lynn have served together on several local economic development boards, so it was a natural fit for Hudson Brothers to work on the new Greenville office building. Hudson Brothers works closely with Allen Clayton, senior vice president and commercial banker, and moved all their banking relationships to Towne.
Lynn comments on how the local community feels about the new TowneBank location. “The new Greenville TowneBank office is at a very prominent, high-profile intersection. We have heard so much input from the community about the quality and the presence of the new bank building. Everywhere I go, people are asking me about it.”
A member of the TowneBank Greenville Board, Lynn describes his service. “I’ve enjoyed being on the local board, getting to know the people and how the bank works. But I also now understand TowneBank’s culture. It is contagious and it has inspired me as a business owner to try to have that same passion within our company – to serve our clients the way Towne serves their members. And recognizing the people in our organization, to appreciate them so that at the end of the day, we have happy customers which garners repeat business. What Towne does with its culture, we now have that same type of commitment in our business.”
