Lunch and Learn in Charlotte
A Great Resource for Nonprofits
SHARE
Nonprofit organizations in the Charlotte area have a great resource available to them at monthly Lunch and Learn events. Held in the community room in the TowneBank Myers Park office, these programs have been popular from the beginning and are expanding.
“I started the series to offer a resource to the Charlotte nonprofit community so that they can learn from experts in their field,” says Alice Joyce, senior vice president and private banker. “At the same time, it’s a great opportunity to network with people from other nonprofits in our area.”
The group size has grown to 30-35, easily accommodated in the community meeting room at Myers Park. “We have such a beautiful space to host events at our financial center. And I am fortunate to have access to so many talented speakers here in Charlotte.”
Some of the most popular speakers have included:
Katie McKiever, social media coach, Elevate Your Nonprofit’s Brand
Attendees learned how to establish a compelling presence, target the right audience, and leverage employee advocacy for greater visibility and impact.
Emiliano Portino, storytelling strategist, Strategic Storytelling for Nonprofits
As a storytelling consultant, Emiliano has a unique perspective on crafting compelling and effective brand stories. “I am passionate about using the power of storytelling to make a positive impact and help brands and individuals connect with their audience on a deeper level,” he says.
Joyce Brooks, fundraising professional, Grant Writing for Nonprofits
Joyce is a fundraising professional who works with RAIN, an organization dedicated to ending HIV in the Charlotte area. Attendees learned the basics of grant writing as well as foundation relations.
