Alexis Swann Receives Accolades
SHARE
Congratulations to TowneBank Peninsula and Williamsburg president Alexis Swann who has recently received several accolades.
Virginia Business Black Business Leaders Award
Virginia Business magazine chose Alexis for its coveted Black Business Leaders Award. Here is how the magazine described the award: "This February during Black History Month, Virginia Business is pleased to honor 17 distinguished leaders from across the commonwealth in our second annual Virginia Black Business Leaders Awards. Our editors chose this year's winners from a pool of 60 nominated executives. Nominees were scored on factors including overall career achievement, community impact and mentorship. One common thread among our winning leaders is that they care a great deal about people and often put them ahead of the bottom line."
At TowneBank, Swann wears her “numbers and people hats” to help her team develop and grow, engage with the community for their banking needs and uses her business acumen to grow the bank's market share. “Ultimately, we help people to achieve their dreams by aligning their finances.”
MLK Community Leaders Awards
In January, the Urban League of Hampton Roads presented the 40th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Community Leaders Awards, selecting Alexis as one of the recipients. The MLK Community Leader Award is presented to individuals or groups who exemplify service to community, demonstrate the values modeled by Dr. King, and make significant contributions to the Hampton Roads Community.
Go Red for Women
Alexis is serving as co-chair for the Hampton Roads Go Red for Women movement. She is joined by Amber Price of Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. Go Red for Women is an initiative of the American Heart Association to increase women's heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women locally, nationally, and globally.
“The mission of the American Heart Association is personal for me, and being in a position to influence the health of the women in our community through the pillars of Go Red for Women is a true honor,” Alexis said. “Our health matters, our voices matter, and the more education and resources we can provide to ensure the women around us live longer, healthier lives, the better.”
Congratulations, Alexis, on this well-deserved recognition.
