TowneBank Names Thomas Woodward President of New Region

TowneBank is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Woodward to become president of its new Suffolk and Western Tidewater region once its Farmers Bank division moves under the TowneBank name in April. Woodward currently serves as executive vice president and chief lending officer for Farmers Bank. In his new role, he will lead the commercial and retail banking teams at locations in the City of Suffolk and Isle of Wight and Southampton Counties.

Woodward brings nearly two decades of experience to the role, having joined the Farmers Bank family in 2005. He is a graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland, the Virginia Bankers Association School of Bank Management, and the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking. In the community, Woodward serves on the boards of Meals on Wheels of Suffolk & Isle of Wight and Obici Healthcare Foundation. He is an active volunteer with the Suffolk chapter of Ducks Unlimited.

On the importance of Woodward’s leadership, TowneBank Executive Chairman Bob Aston shared, “Thomas is well-known to our Farmers Bank family, and we are excited to have his guidance as we introduce TowneBank to expanded areas in Hampton Roads. It is important that Farmers customers continue to work with bankers they know and trust, and we are committed to upholding those banking relationships.”
