Support Ending for Windows XP and Office 2003
Microsoft recently announced that technical assistance for Windows XP and Office 2003 will not be available after April 8th. This means Microsoft will no longer provide security-related patches for known vulnerabilities. Microsoft also announced that Microsoft Security Essentials will no longer be available for download on Windows XP on this date. If you continue to use either service after support ends, your computer will still work, but it might become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses.
What does this mean to you?
If you are running Windows XP or Office 2003 on the PC you use to access your online banking we strongly recommend that you take action to protect yourself from online fraudsters by upgrading to a newer version of Windows before the expiration date.
What should you do?
First, determine if you use either Windows XP or Office 2003. For Windows XP users you should then take action by downloading the latest operating system, Windows 8.1, to your existing computer. If your PC is unable to run Windows 8.1, it might be time to shop for a new one.
For those who use Office 2003 you should consider downloading a newer version of Office so you can receive continuing support and updates.
